Two Communities of Faith…One Mission:

“…to bring good news to the poor…to proclaim release to the prisoners…recovery of sight to the blind…to liberate the oppressed.”  Luke 4:18

About Us:

Rosser Grosse Isle Pastoral Charge and Sparling United Church are two independent Communities of Faith in The United Church of Canada.  Each has their own leadership, teaching and community service goals but also each strives to be interdependent by sharing resources and collaborating where there is common ground.

Rosser Grosse Isle is a rural community of faith that is truly a community church bringing people together from many denominational backgrounds.  Folks at Rosser Grosse Isle come from all over – Rosser, Grosse Isle, Pigeon Lake, Meadows, St. Francis Xavier and beyond.  Rosser Grosse Isle has a deep connection to the land, to neighbour and takes seriously the commitment to worship the Lord with joy and gladness as we live into our mission slogan of “Love God, Love Neighbour, Love the Land”.

Sparling United Church is an urban community of faith and has its roots in the early 1900’s serving the communities of Weston and Brooklands as a Methodist mission while the CPR Railyards were being built.  Once called “Weston’s House of Friendship”, Sparling continues to connect deeply with the community through service and partnership in order to make a space where everyone is welcome as we live into our mission slogan of being a place “God Speaks Your Language”.
